“Small Dragon” – Sweet Bun Roasted Duck Sandwich

Inspired by the very thought of China, we decided to attempt to make a couple of ‘Chinese’ sandwiches – at least in inspiration. The first is a roasted duck sandwich on a steamed sweet bun. You will notice the green onions sticking out of the bun… That was Anders trying to make it look like a dragon, then giving up. Instead it looks a bit like a large bald caterpillar head.

Recipe

  • 1 Steamed sweet bun
  • 2 oz roasted duck
  • 1 green onion
  • 1/2 tsp pesto
  • 1 slice of white peach
  • 1 tsp garlic spread
  • 1 radish

For this sandwich we assume you have access to a roasted duck. Also, you need to follow the instructions on the package to make the sweet buns. In our case, they were to be microwaved for 2 minutes, but if you can get them fresh that’s even better.

Prepare the bun, then watch out; it’s hot. Cut it in half, and spread the garlic spread on there. Cut a radish in 8 pie slices, and place them around the edge (see photos). Cut the green onion in thirds, and lay it around the radish.

Roast a slice of peach on a hot pan for about 4 minutes, until it’s warm and has grill marks. Then place it on the sandwich. Place the roasted duck on top, and before closing the sandwich, spread the pest on the top half.

If you feel artistic, cut a few thin pieces of green onion and add two “antenna’s” to make it look dragon/caterpillar like…
